At the NetAcademy we are committed to protecting your privacy. For this purpose we make transparent and follow these rules:
When a visitor subscribes to our news announcement service or a newsletter, an e-mail address is required as well as the selection to handle the subscription.
If you are interested in subscribing to the two journals edited by the mcm-institute and hosted by the NetAcademy platform:
- Electronic Markets - The International Journal on Business Media and Electronic Commerce and/or the
- JMM - The International Journal on Media Management we need your postal address to send you the requested publication.
When someone registers as a NetAcademy-participant, we ask for your name, the e-mail address and the area you are interested in order to enable us and other NetAcademy participants to communicate with you on subjects you are interested in. You should be aware that for this purpose this information becomes available to other NetAcademy members as well. We strongly discourage other NetAcademy Members to use this information on other members for any other purposes.
Additionally NetAcademy visitors, journal subscribers, as well as NetAcademy participants may inform us about:
- their research areas and interests,
- profession,
- title,
- gender,
- company,
- address,
- phone and fax number,
- additional official and private information that you want to share with us.
All this information is voluntary. When given it is used by us to better understand our community and further encourage communication among our members. We may use your e-mail-address to occasionally notify you about important functional changes to the Web site, news and new services, and special information we think you might find valuable. This information will carry a NetAcademy notifier in its header to ease your mail filtering.
We monitor customer traffic and site usage to help us develop, protect and improve the design of the NetAcademy site. The tracking software we use for this purpose on our Web server collects the domain name and the IP-address of visitors' computers. We do not read out their e-mail addresses. Domain name and IP information is used only in aggregate format and for these internal purposes only. We do not use "cookie" software.
All of the personal data we collect is protected against unauthorized access. The NetAcademy and the mcm-institute does not sell, trade, or rent any of your personal information to others. At any time you can request to have withdrawn personal information you have given us. By using our Web site, you consent to the collection and use of the information as explained in this Privacy Policy.
